Support us

We need your help with the first phase of development. Your donations will allow us to:
- Purchase updated kitchen equipment
- Support specialist training sessions
- Upgrade front of house
Our aim is to provide high quality training and an experience which equips volunteers to step into a career in catering or hospitality when it is right for them. The Seven Bridges will have a real social impact locally, and provide somewhere new, exciting and different to eat for those living, working and visiting Newcastle.  Our goal is to support dozens of volunteers in the near future. You can make a donation to The Seven Bridges via the Dance City website.

WHO WE ARE

In a unique collaboration, Dance City and West End Refugee Service (WERS) are delivering a brand new concept – The Seven Bridges. Our vision is to be a world kitchen, a place where great food and drink offers the context for conversation. At the heart of The Seven Bridges lies a deep commitment to empower WERS clients through training and development opportunities, whilst also being a window into WERS clients’ cultural communities, where events from poetry to song will become a feature.

With a menu created in collaboration between the staff and WERS volunteers, we’re aiming to showcase the rich techniques and traditions of those who work there. The Seven Bridges will be open for lunch on a daily basis as well as providing a pre-theatre offering.

OUR food

The Seven Bridges will be open for lunch offering a variety of cold and hot beverages, sweet treats and tasty meals inspired by the cultures of our volunteers. We will offer an array of vegan and vegetarian options with a focus on serving fresh and locally sourced food. The menu will change on a termly basis, so there will always be something new to try. Some recent offerings have included Coronation Chickpea Sandwiches, Peanut Maafe and Butternut Squash soup.
